Shannon Lawlor

LAWLOR, SHANNON

Embers as far back as childhood continue to etch themselves in Shannon’s creations of today. The combination of growing up in South Western Manitoba and extensive travel in the Western Provinces and States of North America has embossed portraits in the mind and hands of Shannon Lawlor. Sketches and drawings of these continued experiences have proven to be the gateway leading to the winding path that has established Shannon Lawlor Fine Art. The appreciative eye, throughout this journey, has subsequently acknowledged her accomplishments.

Images from the past, the current and her ever-present dreams are now the reality expressed in her ability to capture Western Culture in transition. From the tranquility of the prairies, to the ruggedness of the range, Shannon eloquently details her work. Shannon acknowledges her attributes to the inspiration of the people and the places she has encountered. The endless rope of Western Culture had Shannon embraced from the beginning. Like a campfire at night, the flames are subtly harnessed; yet continue to rise with an ever-changing attraction. This similar atmosphere found in her representations is riveting and beyond simplified explanation. Fire, like Shannon’s work, radiates its own energy. It is what it was meant to be, not what is made to believe.

Shannon’s fire originated and continues to be, the result of the spark of her horsemanship ignited with the essence of the beauty in nature. Infinite moments are now captured in this artist’s own unique interpretation and are demonstrated with accuracy, precision and authenticity. Western Heritage finds its form to the knowing eye in Shannon Lawlor (’s) Fine Art.

SHANNON LAWLOR was the recipient of the 33rd Annual Phippen Museum Western Art Show in 2007.
She was awarded BEST OF SHOW ACRYLIC 2007 for "Cholo".
